Preface to Raising Clan





PREFACE TO THE RAISING SHANG HISTORY.



The descendants under the lineage CLAN of common ancestors in particular by the name of RAISING SHANG or the “I - HAO Tangkhul Raising Kinsfolk” in the promise of God initiates to take note of our History into a written document handed down to us by word of mouth since time immemorial.
The world-renowned historians aptly stated “Human history is the one subject where no one can begin with the beginning”.
However, man through centuries have tried to find the answer to a number of questions covering generations after generation, that arise in his mind about his personal identity, i.e. “ WHO AM I? “ This is a universal basic question and this basic question demands and answer.
The components of an answer to this particular question that cannot be easily ignored are:
a)      His relationship with the universe inconsistent with the reality of existing life, under a supreme Creator.
b)      His struggle for a healthy survival fully aware of death as the first enemy of mankind.
c)      His attitude towards life and death, the mystery of life before birth and after dead.
d)      His equation with nationality, race, stock, kinsfolk, kinsman, shadowing under ancestral background, community, family - siblings, relatives, friends, neighbors and human society at large.
The deeply akin descendants of RAISING SHANG at the present age with an intense desire and ardent longing in our resolute commitment after successive discourse presented by the advanced age kinsfolk added by narrative legendary tales of Tangkhul Naga tribe have suitably yielded to bring forward a recorded written history of the RAISING descendants.
Every inhabitant originally settled earlier than pre-historic events residing within the localities of customarily established Tribal villages in Ukhrul District Manipur is known as Naga Hills in recent past that bears the title of his Clan by the name of Rephung, Raihing, Raiping, Raising…etc each of which is one by blood are sons and daughters of a single parentage. There are a great number of our kinsfolk brothers and sisters scattered elsewhere around the North-Eastern region of India covering parts of Manipur, Nagaland, and Somrah Track (Myanmar), etc. running the same heredity genetic blood belonging to Raising Clan based on Justified counts of mythological and historical facts.
Scaling to begin from the time centuries-old the humble submission to the existence of invisible Omnipotent divine Creator since primitive stages of our forefathers entitled them to obedience and worship. The nature of their devotion to the Supreme Being continues as far as down to this generation embodying the faith of their offspring of these days to embrace Christianity.
Wherefore, unto all ages to come, blessed by God with knowledge of the distinction between right and wrong, goodness and evil, the creation of the heaven and earth and the creation of man and woman accounted in Genesis from Scripture is the basic fundamental source of human history.
Eventually, one generation goes and other generations come, among them of which our ancestors known by the name of Raising descendants are very much part of the divine creation scattered on the face of this Planet. The people of Raising descendants belong to Mongoloid stock possessing a common outlook, tradition, customs, culture, and structure relating to Asian people.
Generally, even in the primitive stages of the pre-historic period, our forefathers were master of a full-grown mind and had the intellectual capacity to translocate their settlement toward greener pasture of the North-eastern region of India. More importantly, the most interesting opinion about them is that they were capable of relating to their environment and condition of life from time to time and from place to place covering centuries multiplied by centuries, ages after ages the world around. This historical background had precisely enlightened upon every one of us, worthy enough to root out our identity in an open searching to “WHO AM I?”

Tangkhul Idol

We the Tangkhul Naga Today (Entertainments & Production House) understand that every individual, society, organisation were bound by rules and regulations, Guidelines under every concerned Authority.     We don’t intend to go against any organisation, Association but need your suggestion, direction and support for the proposed event “THE TANGKHUL IDOL”
Our Short Profile & Mission.
Seeing the development and popularity of Music today there are so many talented Artists whose talents are hidden, confined, unexplored and given a chance, would excel and grow as professionals. Without any major platform to showcase their talents, many artists, bands have been limited only in our own room to play.
However, Tangkhul got lots of talented artists waiting to be explored and still progressing well in the field of music. Tangkhul is also one among the music lovers particularly in North East India and other parts of India as well.
Today we would like to introduce “TANGKHUL IDOL” which is being organised for the first time. Our objective is to hunt for those young talented artists and bring them from their confined world towards exposure.
We also need your support and encouragement to fulfil our project/programme.
We see some very talented people whose career gets cut even before it begins, some sooner and some later.  We aim at determining the best undiscovered young artists in our Tangkhul Community.

Seeing the development and popularity of various competitions such as American Idol, Indian Idol, British Got Talent... etc, we hope that this event would be a stepping stone for the youngsters of our community and would provide them the much needed platform to excel and nurture in exploring their talents as every participants, competitors would bring out their best effort. Natural ability may give gifted artists an advantage, but without effort, success is not guaranteed. And without such event our talented artist would only continue to confine their talent.
Our mission is also aimed at learning and experiencing criticism and evaluating a positive way of living. Because every competition helps us to understand the role of criticism and their responses that affects our success. What our artists/competitors need to understand is that unless we evaluate our work, we can’t get the best. When we get criticism, even harsh criticism, the best response is to pay attention and then take another look at what we did to earn that criticism.
Rather than looking at it as some kind of disaster, we should look at it as a learning experience, an opportunity to improve and grow. While our young artists hardly understand this.
We have seen some artists/competitors play the blame game, but they are not the ones who make it or win the game. It’s difficult to achieve success when the responsibility for that success rests in the hands of others or the hands of fate. The artists who do well recognize the role they play in their own success and do all they can to gain that success.
One thing we would like to acknowledge the artists/competitors is to hold the refusal to accept responsibility for their success. It’s easy for them to blame others for their lack of success - Parents /Guardians push too hard, Teachers didn’t push hard enough, Rules were unfair everywhere. However, as long as they blame others, they can’t take control of their own lives.
And hence we want to see “TANGKHUL face nationally and be exposed to the world.”
We also want to give the experience of trying hard, “try and try again” Sometimes gifted artists have a tendency to give up when the going gets tough as many things come so easily to those gifted and  talented, they don’t always do well when then encounter something that is not easy for them. We have seen from the competition like American Idol, Indian Idol or the British Got Talent, American got talent that the successful contestants don’t give up. They often have to sing song, display different styles they aren't comfortable with and don't do well with. But they don't give up. They try their best and come out stronger even if they don't get high marks, grade or points from the judges.
 We also want to promote our culture through this event. We have seen that some seminars, expeditions, expo, were rarely held. Local culture has rarely been seen as playing a significant role in development outcomes. Nor does empirical research routinely consider the role of local culture in fostering a more complete understanding of community development. Instead, culture is often viewed as an outgrowth of a particular region and dependent upon various experiences, not an independent force. We understand that local culture as well as our cultural activities provides a sense of identity for rural communities and residents and to the outside world. This identity facilitates common understandings, traditions, and values, all central to the identification of plans of action to improve well-being. We also strongly believe that Culture contributes to building a sense of local identity and solidarity. It influences the confidence to each and every citizen and would understand together to address specific needs and problems apart from our artists or singer.
Lastly, with the tremendous development of the communication and information sectors, particular attention has been paid to the need for the young talented artist including cultural communities and cultures while promoting and exposing our hidden talents to the outside world.
