WUNG / HAO TRADITIONAL HOUSES


All the Tangkhul Naga houses were constructed in minus shape with the main 5 pillars in the front side and 5 main pillars in the backside and besides a number of small pillars are put to support the long poles on both sides. The 5 pillars are erected in raw. The tallest pillar in the middle known as AKHOKA, next to is HARPOMA, last is ANGA.
On both sides the shortest pillar Anga is about 10 feet, Harpoma is about 14 ft, Akhoka is about 18 ft. in respect of the ordinary house.
The house of the chief or pipa or any rich, propertied persons the size, height is different.
Eg. - one of the oldest village, phungcham chief house was 40 ft long, 25 ft wide, 25 ft high before, during the 40s
